Management

Dr. Lev Dayan
Chief Scientist & Co-Founder

Dr. Dayan has been involved in research, design, development and the manufacturing of sensors for the last 40 years. Dr. Dayan received his PhD from the Academic Science Institute of Crystallography in Moscow in 1974; and his MSc from the Electronic Communication Research Institute in 1967. He is a leading expert in the physics of crystallography and has extensive experience in sensor R&D, communication systems and surface acoustic devices. Dr. Dayan was involved in numerous R&D projects in crystal physics and sensor technology, and owns several patents in the field of acoustical devices and electro-chemical sensors.
Eli Shachar
Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Shachar joined MS Tech in 2015 as CTO and brings vast R&D experience in sensors, detection technologies and energetic materials. Mr. Shachar brings over 30 years of experience from the Israeli Military Industries (IMI) where he was the Director of the Energetic Materials Section at the Ammunitions Systems Division. He also brings vast experience in technology integration and project management from programs he has managed with the U.S Department of Defense, DARPA, TSWG as well as other governments across Latin America, Europe, India and Asia Pacific. Mr. Shachar was also the official representative of the Government of Israel to the NATO Headquarters as a member of CASG AC/326 - Energetic Materials. Mr. Shachar holds an M.Sc. in Technology and Engineering from the Technion Institute in Haifa, Israel.
Doron Shalom
Chief Executive Officer & Director

Doron Shalom was appointed as CEO and Board Member of MS Tech in 2009. He brings vast entrepreneurial and management experience in highly regarded technology companies, and is tasked with guiding the company through the next phases of its sensor technologies and product developments, and driving rapid market penetration and growth. Mr. Shalom is an industry expert in the commercialization of sensor technologies and in the definition, development, manufacturing, testing and certification of new sensor technologies and detection products, as well as technology enhancements in the chemical sensing of explosives, improvised materials, narcotics and contraband. From 2004 to 2009, Mr. Shalom served as VP Global Sales & Marketing at Scent Detection Technologies Ltd. He brings vast experience in sales and marketing of new technologies and products in the aviation security, airports and global security and safety markets. He brings extensive sales experience from Asia Pacific, Australia, Europe and North America. Mr. Shalom is a Member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI); a professional association formed to counter the criminal use of explosives and exchange of training, experience and information among personnel employed in the fields of law enforcement, fire and emergency, military and forensic science. Mr. Shalom holds a BA in Business Administration from Middlesex University Business School and an MSc Degree in Public Policy & Public Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Gustavo Mejia Blanco
Director of Sales - Latin America

Gustavo Mejia joined MS Tech in 2015; with more of 18 years of experience in the Security Industry, he participated in various international events including the World Bank Governors Annual Meeting in Lima, Peru; XVI Pan American and Parapan American Games in Jalisco, Mexico; COP 16 in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, World Water Forum Mexico City, Mexico, Trilateral Meeting Mexico – Canada – United States, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, APEC Los Cabos, BC and Mexico, where he coordinated the security for venues, hotels, meeting rooms and press rooms. Before joining MS Tech, Gustavo worked at Rapiscan Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIS) as Country Manager in Mexico, and as Aviation Security Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Mejia holds a degree in International Commerce from I.T.E.S.M. in Mexico-City, Mexico.
Chanan Graf
Railways & Mass Transit Security

Mr. Graf is a reputable international security expert, who has nearly three decades of expertise in public transportation security. He specializes in railways and mass transit security, transportation security, aviation security, maritime security and security for critical facilities and infrastructure. After completing an extensive training program for senior security officers and additional specialized courses at the Israel Security Agency, Mr. Graf served as the Head of Israel’s Maritime Security in Italy. Subsequent positions included Deputy Commander of a special maritime and port security unit at Ashdod Seaport in Israel; and Chief Security Officer of the Israeli Ministry of Environment. From 1995 until 2005, Mr. Graf served as the Chief Security Officer of Israel Railways, where he was entrusted with a mission of primary importance and urgency: developing a comprehensive security solution meeting the dynamic threats faced by this organization – an assignment that was given high priority. The comprehensive security system developed and implemented by Mr. Graf for securing Israel Railways' passengers, employees, railways facilities, critical infrastructures and cargo was designed to counter not only terror-related threats, but also criminal threats, including vandalism, sabotage and public disorder. Mr. Graf served as a member of various international security forums (UIC, UITP, APTA) dealing with railways and mass transit security, where he is frequently requested to present the security concepts he developed for Israel Railways, at security conventions, conferences and panels, which other mass transit operators are interested in adopting. Since 2008, Mr. Graf delivers an annual workshop of “Public Transportation Security” at the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome, in its “Master's in Homeland Security – System, Methods and Instruments for Security and Crisis Management” degree. In addition to his education and training at the Israeli Secret Service Academy, Mr. Graf holds a degree in Life Sciences from the University of Milan in Italy.

Moshe Shalom
Chairman & Co-Founder

Mr. Shalom is the Chairman & Co-Founder of MS Tech Ltd. He brings more than 15 years of experience in science & technology, entrepreneurship, strategic management and venture capital investments. Mr. Shalom served at the Israel Prime Minister's Office for twenty-six years in various key positions including security, operations and technology integration. Mr. Shalom founded a number of startup companies in the fields of bio-medical diagnostic devices, fiber-optic sensors, electro-chemical sensors and trace detection systems. Today, Mr. Shalom supports the MS Tech Sensor R&D Center and its business divisions with his research, development and product development expertise. Mr. Shalom is a co-inventor of several patents in the fields of electro-chemical sensors, molecular recognition, and trace and vapor detection technologies.

Vidal Haddad

Mr. Haddad has over thirty years of experience in diplomacy and intelligence for government services in Israel, including senior management positions in the Intelligence and Security Agencies of the Prime Minister’s Office. He has held a number of key international postings in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, where he provided professional expertise and management skills to numerous vital national security and intelligence programs. Many of these programs required direct access and interaction with Cabinet-level government officials on national security related matters. Mr. Haddad is an internationally recognized expert in different National Security and Intelligence disciplines, and an authority in the fields of counter-terrorism, international & homeland security, political & military crisis', and risk analysis & management. He has worked as a private consultant for several leading companies and security businesses, identifying strategic opportunities, risk management, and counter threats posed by competitors or by terrorism and international crime. Mr. Haddad graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey, with a Masters of Administrative Science.
Nathan Steinberg
Managing Partner, Stone Mount Capital

Mr. Steinberg is a private equity professional with extensive financial and transactional experience in the high-tech sector. Prior to founding Stone Mount Capital, an alternative investment firm, Mr. Steinberg was a corporate attorney at a leading law firm, representing private equity and venture capital sponsors in the execution of acquisition, financing and exit transactions, as well as providing transactional and general corporate advice to portfolio companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Steinberg was an investment banker at a Wall Street firm, providing financial advisory services to NASDAQ-listed companies. Mr. Steinberg holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from INSEAD, an MSc in Corporate Law and Accounting from the London School of Economics and an LLB in Business Law from London Guildhall University. Mr. Steinberg is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Scientific Advisory Board

The MS Tech SAB is the company’s primary scientific review board for all R&D projects, screening them for entry into the MS Tech pipeline and monitoring their ongoing progress. With vast scientific and technological knowledge, the SAB members meet regularly with MS Tech management and staff to optimize and maximize the success of each potential product in the pipeline. Our core SAB is also supplemented by domain specific professionals on an as per project basis.


Prof. Abraham Shanzer
Scientific Advisor for Biomimetic Chemistry and Molecular Recognition Faculty Member at the Organic Chemistry Department, Weizmann Institute of Science

Prof. Shanzer is a faculty member at the Organic Chemistry Department in the Weizmann Institute of Science. Prof Shanzer received his undergraduate from Bar-Ilan University in Israel and his PhD from the Virginia Polytechnic in the United States. Since 1976, Prof. Shanzer has been a Senior Scientist at the Weizmann Institute. Between 1984 and 1985 Prof. Shanzer was a Visiting Biological Chemistry Professor at Harvard Medical School. He was also a Visiting Professor at Strasburg University in 1992. Prof. Shanzer's Organic Chemistry Group has published over 150 reviewed articles covering the following key topics: (1) Biomimetic Chemistry applied primarily to the design, preparation and study of mimics to the natural siderophores. (2) Sensor based on molecular recognition phenomena developed by methods of self-assembly on conductive and semi-conductive surfaces. (3) Molecular switches and functional molecular logic-gates. Prof. Shanzer's Group pioneered and demonstrated the feasibility of molecular approaches to future memory and functional integrated logic ‘devices’.
Prof. Ron Naaman
Scientific Advisor for Physical Chemistry Department of Chemical Physics, Weizmann Institute of Science

Prof. Naaman is a research expert in the fields of sensor technologies, electronic properties of self-assembled monolayers, nanotubes and nanowires. He is a professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science, where his research group developed the Molecular Controlled Semiconductor Resistor (MOCSER). Prof. Naaman currently serves as the Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Weizmann Institute and previously acted as the Chairman of the National Committee for Chemistry Education in High Schools in Israel. Prof. Naaman also served as the Chairman of the FIRST Foundation for Interdisciplinary Research and as a Scientific Advisor for the US-Israel Science Foundation. Prof. Naaman received a BSc in Chemistry from Ben-Gurion University and a PhD in Chemical Physics from the Weizmann Institute. Prof. Naaman was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University and served as lecturer and research associate at the Department of Chemistry at Harvard University. Prof. Naaman is a invited frequently to lecture at international symposiums and has co-published over 200 reviewed articles. Prof. Naaman is also the co-inventor of eleven patents related to his different fields of expertise and scientific research.
Prof. Shlomo Yitzchaik
Scientific Advisor for Macromolecular and Surface Chemistry Institute of Chemistry, Hebrew University

Prof. Yitzchaik is a research expert in the fields of macromolecular and surface chemistry. He developed novel routes to assemble molecules on surfaces including the Topotactic Self-Assembly (TSA) and the Molecular Layer Epitaxy (MLE) methodologies that are applicable to solid-state 2D-surfaces. Prof. Yitzchaik pioneered the studies for molecular tuning of the electronic properties of silicon. In addition, he has developed a modular method to link molecular transducers to various sensor-devices surfaces that interfaces living cells with electronic devices. Prof. Yitzchaik also explored new photoactive conducting nanowires and gels. From 1995, Prof. Yitzchaik is a full time professor in the Institute of Chemistry, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He obtained his PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science and spent 3 years as a post-doctoral fellow at Northwestern University. Prof. Yitzchaik authored over 100 papers and holds 17 patents in the fields of material science, solid-state organic chemistry and thin-film technologies. Some of the awards he received include the Israeli Chemical Society, the prestigious Kaye Award from the Hebrew University as well as the Israel Vacuum Society’s award for his development and contribution in the field of molecular layers.
Prof. Shimon Shatzmiller
Scientific Advisor for Biological Chemistry Founder & Head of Biological Chemistry Department, Ariel University

Prof. Shatzmiller is the Founder and Head of the Biological Chemistry Department at Ariel University. Prof Shatzmiller received his BSc, MSc AND PhD from Technion Institute in Israel. Between 1975 and 1979 Prof. Shatzmiller was a Visiting Scientist and Professor at Heidelberg University in Germany. He was also a Visiting Professor at Rand Africans University, Johannesburg S. Africa in 1987 and 1991. Between 1992 and 1995, He also served as the Organic Chemistry Section Head at Israel Chemical Corporation Ltd. Prof. Shatzmiller is a frequent invited speaker or chairman at international meetings and has published over 50 reviewed articles and reviews. Prof. Shatzmiller is also a member of the Israel Chemical Society, German Chemical Society and the American Chemical Society. Prof. Shatzmiller is also a member of council of the Federation of the European Chemical Society. He also served as President of the Israel Chemical Society.
